I was walking down to the office and came across this car-shaped mineral pile.

Kinja'd!!!

It burnt good, melted glass and all.

Kinja'd!!!

So, I guess this is now a Guess the Car Game!

Look at the hood between the headlights. That little edge. I don’t believe it’s a Kadett.

Is it something that was available in Europe?

I dont think so, Opel passed on it.

You’re right, I just thought it looked very Opel-ish, so guessed it could be a Kadett C, without checking.

You’re not wrong, I had the same idea. Then I did an image search. It’s not a Corsa, Kadett or Ascona as we know it. It’s, I assume, a GM South American special.

Where the hell do you live that that’s a thing that actually happens?

Nope, on roughly same design language, but smaller

Looks like an Chevette.

Never happens, except, you know, now.

This is a pretty quiet neighborhood, I’m guessing it was an electrical problem and it burst in flames on the owner’s driveway. There are some markings as if they had pushed it back from the house/trees/sidewalk and then back near the sidewalk after it finished burning.

Ding ding ding!

You are a Winner!

I mean close enough, Argentina got the GMC for a while, everywhere else and for the most time it was a Chevrolet Chevette.

That’s right

I found it because I searched for cars built on the GM T-platform, like the Kadett C, since you said that was close.

That’s something I expect to see in a dystopian horror film.

I was gonna guess Vauxhall so I would have almost been correct.

Yes! Like the others I was thinking you were in Europe, but the plates on the other cars gave it away, those were everywhere in south america in the 90s.

In the family at least, we never got Vauxhalls over here. Just some Opel/Vauxhall designs with minimal aesthetic changed, assembled in Brazil or Argentina with a Chevrolet badge.
